MEMS Gyroscope Modelling Doubts

Hi all,
I am Karthik. As a part of my Masters course, I need to do one mini project and I have chosen MEMS gyroscope. Eventhough my final realization is a ring based vibratory gyroscope, just to get familiarized with COMSOL and characterize the resonators, i drew a simple model. I am having some doubts. I have attahced the 3D model picture i have made.
1) I drew first in 2D and extruded to 3D. But in 3D the boundaries are seen as shown in figure 1.How can i remove that
2) I need to mechanicaly fix 2 block to make it as an anchor and need to give voltage to the comb drives. Please tell me how to do that. (I have did the same for 2D models as given in various demos)
3) When i try to create the mesh, it shows a warning under the mesh icon as "Edge is much shorter than the specified minimum element size." & "Face is (or has a narrow region that is) much smaller than the specified minimum element size." I tried out with different meshes but the same warning is coming.
Since i am a beginner in COMSOL and FEM, i am not able to solve these things of my own. Hope someone out there who is well versed in COMSOL is kind enough to help.
Thanks in advance
Karthik R
