what type of physic that i should use?

I got an assignment which is need me to calculate electric field when applying 5kHz high frequency 10.0kV to the electrode.

i dont know what type of physic that I should use for this work.. Is it electric current of AC/DC?

i hope someone can help me through this assignment.
