Total COMSOL newbie here, please be gentle :-)
After some struggle and a lot of looking at the model library, I managed to set up a simple 2D model of a plane wave incident on a pair of metal strips separated by about 1/4 of the wavelength (the strip width is ~5x the wavelength). The results make sense in the frequency domain. You initially see strong reflections and interference above the strips, and once the surface plasmons kick in you see the field penetrating the gap between the strips and the expected ~2x field amplitude enhancement -see attached image.
I am now trying to extract a 1D plot of the voltage that develops between the strips as a function of the frequency. This is the "intrinsic" voltage that develops due to the plasmon resonance in the gap, not some externally supplied voltage. As best as I can tell I need to define a lumped port and then do a global plot of emw.Vport_1 vs. frequency. I tried it as described in the rf coil example model, but am getting a zero voltage at all frequencies.
Can someone point me in the right direction how to do something like this? An example model perhaps, that I can plagiarize :-) Or am I getting 0V because the lump port is extracting the time-averaged value?
Thanks - Boyan
