Variable synchronous reluctance machine vs synchronous reluctance machine

I have a question regarding the design and the phenomenon of a variable synchronous reluctance machine (VSRM). When designing the rotor, is there a difference between this machine and the synchronous reluctance machine (SynRM)?
What is the phenomenon difference between the two machines?
