Can particle inlet surface also act as bouncing walls?

In the particle tracing module, it seems to me that whenever I select a surface as a particle inlet, that surface will be excluded from (or override) wall boundary that can bounce/freeze..etc. particles. They are exclusive node types, but I'd rather have the inlets act as walls (right after time zero) because there is no need for the inlet anymore after the particles are injected. I realize I can still use the release-from-grid function, but that is very limited given the inlet geometry is complicated. Is there any workaround on this? Once the particles are released, is there anyway to change the inlets to walls?
