LiveLink for CAD - can it handle multiple parts?

Hi All,

Can LiveLink for various CAD products handle multiple parts or assemblies? All the documentation/videos I have seen on LiveLink show it being used with a single part. Although using a CAD package for geometry creation seems ideal (they are so much easier to use) I'm trying to understand how that would work with more realistic models with having multiple parts with different material properties.
